YUNTA ( Yoon-tah ) which translates to “FRIEND” is derived from Quechua, the native, ancient language of the Inca Empire of Peru. The yellow sun represents a modern take on the golden sun temple known as ‘Coricancha’ – the most important and influential temple of the Incan empire. The meaning and philosophy of YUNTA is “friends” or “friendship”. The spirit and culture of YUNTA is happiness, gratitude and generosity, all which are engrained in the core of hospitality veterans Randy Garcia and chef Bruno Macchiavello. In 2013, the two restauranteurs opened Viva Chicken, a Peruvian rotisserie concept based in Charlotte, NC that quickly created a cult like following.
I absolutely love this place!! My favorite dinner restaurant in Charlotte hands down. The food is fresh and delicious, the staff is very friendly. All the Ceviches are the bomb! I also love their vegetable sushi roll...
I am absolutely in love with this place! Everything we ordered was just full of flavor and that ummmphhhh if you know what I mean. There's so much love to their food and it means a lot to me! You must try it...
Absolutely amazing. Everything we had was so good, but the Tigers Milk ceviche stole the show. Perfect combination of tart, crunchy, and spicy. Four to five plates should be good for two people...
My husband and I went here for our ten year anniversary and it did not disappoint!! The atmosphere, service and food was top notch. They definitely stay true to the Peruvian culture and it was a great experience...
I was blown away at my dining experience! There is frankly nothing like this restaurant outside of Lima or Miami. From the first moment we walked in the door, we knew we were in for a 5-star experience...
